Blue Dog bumpkin, former pharmacist and recipient of major donations from the health insurance and big pharmaceutical companies, Mike Ross, seems to care a lot more about getting bribes contributions from lobbyists than getting healthcare for his constituents. Five days after Ross opposed the same healthcare provisions strongly opposed by the healthcare industry, “Ross was the guest of honor at a special health-care industry reception, one of at least seven fundraisers for the Arkansas lawmaker held by health-care companies or their lobbyists this year, according to publicly available invitations.” MSNBC

No shock the Blue Dog corporate hounds like Ross have seen a huge surge in bribes contributions from medical PACs, the health-care, insurance and financial services industries and others seeking help in maintaining the lucrative status quo for the greedy corporate health-related industries.

Ross and the other so-called ‘conservative’ Democrats—DINOs (Democrats In Name Only)—might just as well switch to the Republican Party and be done with the silly charade.

The mega-corporate health insurance and big pharma industries are spending approximately $1.4 million dollars per day bribing lobbying members of Congress to kill or all but eliminate meaningful healthcare reform in this country.

American citizens—75% of whom favor reforms and a single payer system to compete with private industry— may theoretically still have a voice but I don’t believe those voter voices can be heard over the pro-corporate media propaganda and the din of shuffling, unmarked envelopes stuffed with cash changing hands in the dark, locked rooms of Congress.

We never even had a seat at the table during Congressional inquiry into this issue. Those seats were reserved for insurance and pharmaceutical corporations who profit in the billions from the current system.

Arkansas Representative Mike Ross has many constituents who can’t afford health insurance. Mike says he’s on their side. But Mike is ready to vote against President Obama’s overhaul of the healthcare system and stand against the very type of guaranteed healthcare insurance coverage the people of Arkansas and the United States need.

Ross is a member of the Blue Dog Coalition, a conservative group regressive wing of the progressive Democratic Party. They are demanding guarantees the healthcare reform legislation will not add to the federal deficit. Their stated concern is over the fear of bankrupting the nation. That’s an unusual request coming from Mike and this group.

They showed little or no concern over Bush’s war of choice: the illegal, unnecessary and grossly expensive $17 Billion Iraq war—costing U.S. citizens roughly $100.00 per household per month. Forget the skyrocketing cost of interest and the loss of over 4,500 U.S. service men and women, the devastation done to American family members, our military, our standing in the world and the U.S. Treasury.

Where were former pharmacy owner Mike Ross and the Blue Dog coalition for that immoral expenditure that helped drain our treasury of precious dollars? They were all but silent.

They say they are for the people on Healthcare reform.

Talk is cheap.

Considering their obstructionism and the fact that the Blue Dogs have received ‘contributions’ from Health Insurers of $839.806 and Big Pharma of $896,734 the highly suspect rhetoric from Mike Ross and the Blue Dogs can only be overcome by getting on board and backing the Healthcare reform demanded by President Obama and the majority of the citizens of this state and country.

Time for the Dogs to stop barking up the greedy corporate donations tree and get with the people for the real hunt for health care for everyone.

…Is What’s Going On In Iran

The media has been asking, “So, what’s going on with the religious group, The Family, over at ‘C Street’ in Washington D. C. ever since the sex scandals of some of its residents and followers, like Ensign and Sanford, broke into the open?"

The answer to what’s going on at ‘C Street’ can be found by looking at Iran where religion is government. Where fanatical religious leaders control the government and the military against its citizens, perverting justice, freedom and individual liberty at every turn. The same thing is happening at ‘C Street’ in our nation’s Capital.

As in Iran, fanatical religion is corrupting the political system. None of the disgraced sexcapade political hypocrites of ‘C Street’ involved in the notorious sex scandals emanating from involvement with The Family will resign. They don’t have to. Why? Because they’ve been brainwashed to believe they are elected by God, and therefore have no obligation to the citizens who elected them. Just like Iran. They have formulated an ethical standard (I use the term ‘ethical’ very loosely here) to absolve themselves from accountability. Just like Iran.

This cult of ‘faith-based’ religious fanatics consider themselves ‘God’s politicians’ and therefore above any laws not set by their cult leader, in this case a smiling, cordial, malicious religious cleric named Doug Coe. Just like Iran.

Coe claims to have 15,000 U. S. military officers under his control and an as yet unidentified number of U. S. politicians and appointed government officials to do his bidding and protect his brand of religious fanaticism. Coe has made it very clear in his sermons what is going on over at The Family’s C Street address. Coe’s sermons, his orders to his followers, boil down to this chilling message:

“You have a covenant, a pledge to forsake your father, mother, brother, sister and your own life for me, Doug Coe and The Family. You can have no other objectives in life ahead of me and The Family. Your own life and the life of your real family members are worthless unless you worship and obey me and the goals of The Family. The religious turmoil that is Iran is brewing right here in America. We watched it reach a slow boil under the eight hellish anti-Constitution, anti-law years of the Doug Coe ‘faith-based’ Bush regime. Was Just A Matter Of Time

…Our Prisoner of War Dilemma

With all the military engagements around the world, it was only a matter of time before a U. S. military member was captured by the enemy. In the past, America had the moral high ground on this issue and could demand prisoners be treated fairly, humanely and in accordance with International Conventions. Not so today.

Thanks to Bush, Cheney and their band of torturing, murdering, anti-law thugs, our American military are all at risk of being the victims of the same abuses authorized, condoned and instigated against prisoners held by the United States. President Obama has his share of the blame in this by turning his back on the prosecution of war crimes against those responsible in the Bush administration.

The United States government, unfortunately, has nothing but hypocrisy to hide behind now. This is the dilemma of the soldier Pfc. Bowe R. Bergdahl, 23, of Ketchum, Idaho who is being held captive by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Our government ignores International Law and tortures prisoners but demands our military held as prisoners not receive the same inhumane, brutal and illegal treatment.

In a disgusting and embarrassing display of abject hypocrisy, the United States government condemns a recently released video of Pfc Bergdahl as “a violation of international law.”

“In a newly-released video, an American soldier who is being held captive by the Taliban in Afghanistan says he’s ‘scared I won’t be able to go home.’ Local Taliban commanders had previously threatened to kill the soldier.”

Bush, Cheney and all of the ‘torture of prisoners is good, upholding the law is bad’ Republican knuckle-draggers—you happy now? Happy now that you’ve put our military in this horrible position? Oh, I forgot. To you and your kind, our military is expendable. You only care about our military as tools to further your personal and corporate wealth and to make political and religious gains. All of you are a disgrace to humanity.

Remedy for this horrible situation: an immediate prisoner swap. We get Pfc Bergdahl back unharmed. We give Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, Gonzales, et al to the Taliban. It would be a ‘win, win” situation for the United States of America.

This subversive, tax-exempt group has brainwashed and is directly influencing—if not outright controlling—6 to 8 (likely more) U. S. Their list also includes Governor Mark Sanford among the Family’s Middle-Eastern religiously brainwashed drones.

The Family is an anti-American group who claims Jesus and Hitler were virtually the same—requiring each individual to turn their backs on their wives, husbands, family, friends and themselves and give full devotion (and apparently lots of money) to their leaders (meaning the people who preach for and run the organization they like to call “The Family”. It claims to control 15,000 U. S. military officers and an untold number of enlisted people in their Middle-Eastern religious crusade against all who would oppose them—members of Islam, secularists and non-Christians are among those on their ‘hit’ list.

This group brags about how it passes money around, mostly cash, to avoid any tax or IRS complications. It appears this little bastion of Middle-Eastern religious centered evilness is actually a vicious organized crime group engaged in illegal activity against both the government of the United States, elected political leaders and many, many others overseas.

It is imperative this group be investigated, prosecuted and shut down. The U. S. government can start by launching an investigation by the IRS into the group’s tax-exempt status and apparent money-laundering and tax evasion schemes. Further, the U.S. Justice Department needs to launch an immediate investigation of this subversive organization.

This cancer needs to be cut from our Western democratic institutions.

No one has to wonder what will happen to the laws, freedoms and the people of the United States of America if the religious nut-jobs ever get their way and completely destroy the Constitution and the Bill of Rights—our cornerstone of laws, liberties and freedoms—and replace those laws with Middle-Eastern religious laws. 1. In Sudan women are pulled out of public areas such as restaurants, arrested and being publically flogged with brutal 40 lashes as punishment for wearing trousers because trousers are not permitted to be worn by women under the Middle-Eastern religious Islamic Sharia law.

These types of murders in the name of religious insanity occur on a daily basis under the country’s Islamic Law that prohibits men and women to mix if they are unrelated. The religious police enforce this and other religious rules, such as an Islamic dress code, prayer attendance and prohibiting possession or consumption of alcohol.

4. In Ireland, the Middle-Eastern religious clerics of Christianity pushed the government to pass a blasphemy law. Under this law anyone who utters or publishes “blasphemy” is now guilty of a criminal offense. In case you missed it, blasphemy is the religious term for censorship solely and specifically designed to eliminate all individual thoughts and speech questioning the authority of religion or the actions of its clerics. For this Irish crime against rational thinking, freedom of thought, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the fine is a criminal record, €25,000 and the loss of any books, materials or other privately owned publications, writings, pictures or artwork deemed offensive to the law. Arizona Republican Senator Sylvia Allen supports the opening up of Uranium mining in her state. In a meeting with environmentalists, she assured them that Earth is only 6,000 years old and they should have no concern about destroying the environment. She made the statement about the age of the Earth twice in her meeting. Her assertion is so preposterous that she made Keith Olbermann’s Worst Person Award tonight on MSNBC.

Didn’t the Arizona Senator, even for one little minute, stop to consider the actual age of Uranium, much less the scientific evidence concerning the actual age of the planet we live on?

Modern geologists and geophysicists consider the age of the Earth to be around 4.54 billion years old, determined by radiometric age dating of meteorite material and is consistent with the ages of the oldest known terrestrial and lunar samples. Or, as Phil Plait of BadAstronomy notes the irony of Allen’s claim “is that she’s talking about uranium mining, and it’s through the radioactive decay of uranium that we know the Earth is billions of years old.”

Ill-informed, faith-based, non-scientific lunacy, as evidenced by this Arizona Senator will never let the truth, facts and intelligent reasoning get in the way of their lunatic thinking.

If there’s anyone in this country with a brain (and who actually uses it) who still thinks Palin is qualified to hold the office of President of the United States, this latest statement should kill all such thoughts.

In an interview with an ABC News, Palin was asked if she would ever consider another run for national office. “Palin said there was a difference between the White House and what she had experienced in Alaska. If she were in the White House, she said, the Department of Law would protect her from…ethical allegations.”

"I think on a national level, your department of law there in the White House would look at some of the things that we've been charged with and automatically throw them out," Palin said.

As anyone who paid attention in fifth and sixth grade U.S. government classes can tell you, there is no "Department of Law" in the White House.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell with folks if the glass of intelligence is half full or half empty. No doubt with Palin. Hers is totally full...of Stupid.

Sarah Palin, Republican Governor of Alaska has announced she will resign her office as of July 26, 2009. No surprise, really. She's been a virtual political train wreck from day one.

In a nervously delivered, quickly called ‘press conference’ with about a dozen people and several wild geese in attendance, the failed VP of the failed McCain run for the Presidency against President Obama told Alaskans and the world that she is a quitter. Again, no surprise. She’s in over her head trying to serve in any elected office, let alone that of governor of a state. In reality, she’s a blithering, rambling, inarticulate idiot, an intellectually impaired example of one of the poorest specimens of the human race ever to reach the office of governor in any state at any time in history.

The media is all a-buzz about Sarah and the rambling excuses she spewed about why she’s quitting.

Ed Freeman passed away August 20th, 2008. He never was a Hollywood star, a talk-show host or sidekick, never was a television pitch-man and probably never did the moon-walk. While his death was covered by some news outlets, none of the networks had a flashing ‘breaking news’ segment up 48 hours and talk endlessly about Ed when he passed. Why should they? There’s rarely any money to be made from greedy corporations when a hero passes. But Ed did become an urban legend, get to visit the White House for honors and he did receive recognition for his valiant call to duty. Ed was a hero.

What did Ed Freeman do?

Because their small emergency-landing zone was just one hundred yards away from the heaviest fighting, their unarmed and lightly armored helicopters took several hits. In all, Freeman carried out fourteen separate rescue missions, bringing in water and ammunition to the besieged soldiers and taking back dozens of wounded, some of whom wouldn’t have survived if they hadn’t been evacuated.”

Seems appropriate this holiday to remember and honor Ed and all the brave heroes who unselfishly serve their country, some paying the ultimate price.
