…Admits to being the problem

The Republican Senator from Oklahoma was in Northwest Arkansas last week at a town hall meeting. Like all his recent town halls, he ranted against our country’s government. He claims government is isn’t the solution to problems, it is the problem itself. He says government isn’t to be trusted. He thinks those in the government are incompetent, unreliable and less than trustworthy.

If we trust that the Senator knows what he’s talking about and is being truthful, why should we listen to him at all? We shouldn’t.

As a Senator, he’s part of the government. By his own thinking on it, Senator Coburn is the problem, not the solution.

Why do Teabaggers and other idiotic right-wingers hate America, Boston, Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin and Puritans? Ah, ok. It's because of 'socialism'.

"The first public school in America was established by Puritan settlers in 1635 in the home of Schoolmaster Philemon Pormont and was later moved to School Street. Boys from various socio-economic backgrounds attended Boston Latin School until 1972 when girls were also accepted.

A portrait statue of Benjamin Franklin overlooks the former site of Boston Latin School which Franklin, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock once attended. Franklin's place of birth was just one block away on Milk Street, across from the Old South Meeting House.

…Revealing the idiocy of Teabaggers and the GOP on ‘socialized’ services

A friend of mine forwarded this Facebook site. If you don’t get the point, you’re probably a Teabagger and/or a member of the GOP. It plainly illustrates the idiocy of the obstructionist, anti-Obama movement’s wrong-headed philosophy that ‘socialized services’ are too expensive to be of value. It is a short-sighted, ill-conceived, hateful position. As this Facebook posting makes clear, we already have and enjoy many ‘government run socialized services’—military, police, and fire department services, to name just a few. Teabaggers and other ill-informed bleaters would have us dismantle our current government services for private company contracts. I don’t know about you but I do not want to trade our police, fire and military with the likes of private mega-corporate criminals like Halliburton and the old and murderous Blackwater (Xi).

...We Already Have Them

One side supports viable healthcare reform to make life better for all our country's citizens. The other side opposes anything that 'increases our country's debt' except and unless it involves waging war, murdering people by the hundreds of thousands and stealing other countries resources to fatten the coffers of big oil and the military-industrial complex corporations and their cronies. That 'other side' also doesn't mind that we've lost over 4,500 brave men and women in uniform at a cost in Iraq alone that would have paid for universal healthcare.

You are being lied to, used and laughed at and it hurts to watch. It’s painful to see people abused in this manner. Please wake up. They are scaring you with straw men, boogey men, red herrings and outright lies. There is no death panel. There is no euthanasia clause. Medical insurance company bureaucrats already come between you and your doctor. Your insurance company can drop you anytime they want. Insurance companies can and do refuse coverage of people with pre-existing conditions because it isn’t profitable for them. They can and do often refuse service anytime they want even if you’ve paid your premiums. Insurance companies already often refuse medical service even if you or a loved one is nearing the end of life and even if your doctor thinks you need that service. Families are losing their homes and their life savings when catastrophic health issues strike.

The healthcare status quo in this country needs to go.

We need reform; meaningful, thoughtful reform. We can’t get there without informed people having a civil dialogue about the facts. Read the proposed bills and plans; discuss them with your elected political representatives, friends, and neighbors. The people on radio and television and elsewhere using scare tactics against you do not have your best interest at heart. They have one goal: keep the huge profits flowing for themselves and their mega-corporation owners under the current healthcare system. They are using you.

…Injured Teabagger Begs For Healthcare Money

The good news is many of the town hall meetings with citizens, Congresspersons and Senators across this nation are conducted in a respectful, civil manner but, sadly, this is not always the case.

Rude, uncivil behavior at a town hall meeting in Kansas led to a man being injured in an altercation. This was bound to happen eventually. It will likely be repeated again and again, with possibly worse consequences next time as Teabaggers and others seek to disrupt town hall meetings across this nation; pretending they are part of some ‘grass-roots’ protest movement when all the while the truth is something else. That ‘something else’ is an organized, well-oiled (by that I mean lots of money) plan from right-wing conservative groups seeking to disrupt, stall and eventually kill any meaningful healthcare reform. Sponsoring and contributing organizations include both FreedomWorks (read: Freedom for the rich and their mega-corporate sponsors) and Americans For Prosperity (read: rich Americans for their own Prosperity), radio’s gas-bag hate-mongering tycoon of buffoonery and Fox News Channel (read: informational propaganda for the mentally and emotionally ill). Tagging along behind them like good little drones are members of the ill-informed, easily manipulated, naive Tea Party Patriots. The agenda for leaders of these groups, their stated goal, is to bring political harm to the President of the United States. If you believe their rhetoric and published works, it is obvious; they care only about scoring cheap political points. Their petty goals trump all other considerations. The organizers and sponsors are neither patriotic nor interested in civil participation in our democratic system of government. In short, I don’t believe they have any concern for the plight of the average American, let alone the estimated 40 million + who have no healthcare.

Actions speak louder than words and their actions to thwart intelligent, effective and civil town hall meetings illustrate they care not one bit about the citizens of the United States. At the very minimum, this type of behavior minimizes the sincere concerns of Americans. Many well-meaning citizens, conservative, liberal, moderates and all the rest attend these town hall meetings in hopes of having a civil, two-way conversation concerning the important subject of meaningful healthcare reform. They are being cheated of this opportunity when the screaming and shouting of mob rule takes over.

It is unfortunate this person got hurt at all at the town hall meeting; the story made all the worse since it is reported he has no healthcare coverage and is asking for donations to cover his medical costs.

A not so funny and sad irony on the spectacle and political circus of the bitter pill of mob rule attempting to thwart meaningful healthcare reform. Kansas City

I have to admit I’m disappointed and upset with Blue Dog Democrats in general and specifically with my closet Republicans Democratic U. S. Representatives and Senators from Arkansas. They let me down with their blind support of Bush’s expensive and unconstitutional reign of terror, tax cuts for the super rich, illegal wars, illegal wiretapping and spying on Americans. Their work against American social progress and President Obama’s healthcare plan is just more of the same “keep the rich richer, to hell with the average citizen” Republican mind-set. The weasels blue dogs helped the government spend billions in taxpayer money on wars to fund corporate welfare and fatten the profits of the military industrial complex but refuse to spend funds to help Americans with healthcare. Embarrassing. Hypocritical. Shameful.

What do you get when you mix a failing political party with no integrity, mega-corporations fearing a loss of obscene healthcare and health insurance profits and group of ignorant, unintelligent, ill-informed loud-mouthed drones people with a strong desire to protect the country’s pathetic healthcare status quo even though it isn’t good for them or any of the rest of us?

You get lies, deceit, distortion, hatred, mistrust and a disruption of the democratic process by mob rule.

Mix it, shake it, stir it and pour it down our throats. Let’s all drink to the death of rational discussion relating to important issues. Gross profits, crass political points and media ratings mean more than any silly ideas like truth and democracy, don’t they?
