Happy Winter Holidays 2009

...Tin Can Tabloid Christmas Vacation

Like Chevy Chase in “Christmas Vacation”, Tincanman will be off celebrating the chilly winter holiday season with family and friends. I may or may not be posting with any regularity until the New Year 2010 arrives which is only 20 days away! Where does the time go?

Happy, safe and enjoyable holiday season to everyone.

"Hipster" Westerners

…Not Wanted In Middle-Eastern Enclave

The city’s mayor had bicycle lanes removed from the Hasidic community roads and avenues to appease the community just before last month’s election. Think this happened in the Middle-East somewhere? Think again. This disgusting display of anti-Western freedoms and cheap political expediency took place in New York City.

Seems the Hasids—as the Hasidic Jews are called in this article from the New York Post—prefer and demand their Middle-Eastern religion trump the laws, values, rights and freedoms of the West and the laws of the United States of America. This group of mentally and emotionally ill people claim their Middle-Eastern religion forbids them from staring at members of the opposite sex in various states of undress, thus making the absurd claim the bicycle riders posed a ‘religious hazard’.

First, everyone in the United States has the legal right to their own religious beliefs. They do not have the right to force those beliefs on the rest of us and that’s what happened in this incident. Secondly, the mayor—salivating over the thought of getting ‘a few more votes’—should never have sacrificed Western law to the xenophobia of the mentally and emotionally ill. I would be interested to know if the mayor’s own ethnic or religious beliefs had anything to do with his decision. Not surprisingly, the mayor is also Jewish.

Thirdly, everyone I’ve ever seen on any street or neighborhood is “in various states of undress” unless they are dressed out in some outlandish Middle-Eastern slave garb covering all but the smallest part of their face and hands.

The solution to the Williamsburg Hasidic Jew’s problems can’t be found in the United States of America if they think and demand their Middle-Eastern religious sensibilities should be respected above the laws of the West. And before you jump off into the abyss by repeating one of the Great Lies—no—Judaism and Christianity are not Western ideas and beliefs; they are Middle-Eastern in origin, not Western.

I have a suggestion. Let’s keep the laws and standards of the West intact here in the United States of America. If that idea offends your sensibilities, move to the Middle-East and practice your mental illness there. Or stay in America, enjoy and embrace our rights and freedoms while you seek professional counseling and psychiatric care to purge you of your mental and emotional problems.

John Lennon

…Not Forgotten

“…Imagine all the people, living life in peace…”

On this day in 1980, rock mega-star John Lennon was shot to death outside his New York City apartment building.

Strawberry Fields Forever, John.

Bad Decision Based On Bad Advice

...Obama's Military Advisors Need To Go

First, there’s much being said about President Obama’s ill-fated, ill-advised decision to make the Bush/Cheney eight year disaster that is Afghanistan his own. Those of the War-Is-Great-When-I-Make-Millions-From-It Party (formerly known as the GOP) still want Obama to be a failed President. Karl Rove, a Bush co-conspirator in the Bush/Cheney eight-year War Crimes spree and propaganda minister for the party of the military/industrial complex said he supports Obama’s surge of 30,000 troops. Sounds like support, doesn’t it? It isn’t. It is a calculated statement designed to deceive. Rove made the statement in order to help drive a larger wedge between Obama and his core base supporters who do not agree with his Afghan move. And there is disagreement.

Secondly, the division in the camp of Obama today over his decision is going to fester and grow as Obama leaves himself vulnerable to more bad advice in the future from the same people who failed in Afghanistan for almost eight years under the Bush/Cheney War Crimes Machine. They were incapable of winning then, the same will be true between now and 2011. Some say Obama’s decision should not have surprised anyone since he said over and over during the campaign it was what he planned to do. And why was that, do you think? Why did then-candidate Obama think it necessary to pursue a losing war in Afghanistan? Why did the now-President Obama think the same? The answer to both questions is: bad advice from the same sources, General McChrystal and the other Bush/Cheney generals, proven liars all, proven failures all—as I’ve pointed out here before.
