Bipartisanship

…the elusive dream and foolish fantasy of President Obama

I give the President high marks for trying to reach bipartisan agreements with members of Congress but it is a waste of time and energy. Instead of trying to woo them into his way of thinking, perhaps the President should take a refresher course in how to listen. His opponents, Republicans, Tea Bagging Loonies, money-grubbing corporate controlled ‘conservatives’ and Blue Dog Benedict Arnolds have said many, many times, “No” to the President’s multiple attempts at bipartisanship. They want him to fail. It’s their only agenda. They’ve said so. I've watched their votes. I've heard them. I wonder why the President is so deaf?

  1. My opinion changes daily on this subject. On the one hand, he seems to be making a futile attempt and should probably give up. On the other hand, he has to keep trying, if only to point out how uncooperative the Republicans are being.

  2. Thanks for that, Betty. I find the entire exercise very frustrating and unfruitful. The longer the quest for 'bipartisanship' goes on the fewer the days left to actually accomplish something large-scale and worthwhile for this country, like single-payer healthcare for instance. I have not given up on the President. He's still far, far better than the faux-Texan liar idiot Shrub that gave us this mess to begin with.
